Summer Events and Newly listed items!

I hope you are enjoying your Summer and this glorious sunshine so far. I have been busy getting ready for my Summer events. Here are some dates for the diary...

* Dacre Hall Lanercost Summer Craft Fair, Lanercost Priory, Cumbria.
26th July - 4th August 2014
10am - 5.30pm
Admission 60p, accompanied children free.
Annual Summer craft fair with homemade refreshments available.

* Potfest in the Pens, Skirsgill Auction Mart, Penrith, Cumbria.
1st - 3rd August 2014
10am - 5pm
Admission, adults £4, seniors, £3.50, accompanied children free.
Over 130 exhibitors transform cattle pens into stands selling their ceramics. It is also a lovely opportunity to chat to the makers and be inspired with demonstrations and free classes with potters for anyone wishing to have a go.

30th - 31st August 2014
10am - 4pm
Admission £2.
A brand new event to Carlisle and a lovely chance to meet, see and purchase artists based locally and further afield.

Summer Exhibition, The Shire Hall Gallery, 28th July - 31st August 2014

A Summer showcase of pieces created by artists with a Summery theme. Perfect to pick up that special wedding, birthday gift or treat for yourself. I am delighted to have a collection of my pieces in this exhibition including by bunting, framed porcelain, jewellery, bird houses and decorations. I have also just spotted one of my bird houses in the exhibition leaflet, yay! New collections and Art in the Pen, Carlisle

I had a lovely time exhibiting at Art in the Pen, Carlisle at the weekend. It was the first of it's kind in Carlisle and it was wonderful to be apart of this event being in my home town. Thank you so much to everyone that came along and supported the event and also who visited my stand. It was lovely chatting and meeting you all. I also launched some new pieces at the event including these cute little bird house hangings which went down a treat...

Art In The Pen, Carlisle, 28th - 29th June 2014

I have been busy getting ready for my up and coming Summer events including the new Art In The Pen in Carlisle. Annually held in Skipton for the last nine years it is coming to Carlisle for the first time. Cow pens are transformed into little stands where over 70 selected local and national artists and makers exhibit and sell their work in a lovely friendly atmosphere. Exhibits will include ceramics, textiles and much more.

The event is on 28th - 29th June 2014, 10am - 4pm, £2 entry fee at Borderway Mart, Montgomery way, Rosehill, Carlisle, Cumbria. There is also a preview evening on Friday 27th June, 7pm - 9pm which is by invitation only. I do have a number of invitations so if you would like to come along please feel free to contact me at info@amanda-mercer.co.uk with your address and I will pop them in the post to you.

Lifestyle shots for the Spirit of Christmas Fair website

I have just spotted my Christmas decorations, little trees and buttons on the Spirit of Christmas Fair website. It's lovely to see them amongst other pieces in a lifestyle shot. I am unfortunately not going to be exhibiting at the fair this year but it was lovely to have been asked to send in some pieces of my work for the shoot.

Make and Create Exhibition 2014

I am excited to have my framed butterfly tiles in the 'Make And Create' Exhibition at The Orleans House, Riverside Gallery, Twickenham from the 31st May - 19th July 2014. 'It is a stylish contemporary open exhibition which brings together artists, designers and craftspeople that create affordable and decorative pieces for the home'.

New button stud earrings

I thought I would share my new collection of pretty dainty button earrings. They are original buttons found in my Grandma's button box which I have cast, and are then created in porcelain form.
