To Kill a Mockingbird nest

I was delighted to have been asked to create a nest for a lovely customer inspired by her favourite book, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird.’ 

Each piece within the nest represents the book in some way, wether it’s a reference or character... such as an acorn from the oak tree with the knot hole, a soapstone figure which I carved from clay and a personalised touch of a pocket watch with a photograph of her Grandfather attached 🤍

It was so lovely to have the opportunity to work with textiles again and revisit creating birds nests combined with ceramics which formed my degree show ‘Home birds’ many moons ago 🤍
